Amy Leigh Strickland was raised in Townsend, Massachusetts, but found her way down south for her education. She was highly involved in high school, devoting her time to Art Club, Drama Club, Student Council, and Flight Student Literary Magazine. While at North Middlesex Regional High School, Amy anchored the North Middlesex News, served as President of the school’s chapter of the National Honors Society, and earned her Girl Scout Gold Award. She also spent summers and weekends volunteering to found and direct the Harry Potter Book Club for children at the Townsend Public Library.
She went on to earn her Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Performing Arts, from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2008. That year she played the title role in the Neil Bartlett adaptation of Oliver Twist, directed by Tony Award winner, Sharon Ott.
Amy has worked as a model, actress, teacher, and web designer. Since relocating to Alabama, Amy has starred in the Birmingham Independent film, Lost in Reality (as the brainy ingenue, Maggie) and was featured in a commercial for The University of Montevallo.
Amy currently attends classes at the University of Montevallo, working towards her Masters of Education, majoring in English Language Arts. She is set to finish her degree in May of 2013.
Amy’s publications include Olympia Heights: The Pantheon, Olympia Heights: The Weight of the World, Kissing Corpses, and reflections in the upcoming book The Incognito Project.
